"Spike" Reedy, 81, died Friday, November 26, 2010, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born and raised liam G. and Amy Bamberger Reedy. He graduated from Newmanstown High School, class of 1946. He served two years in the Army from 1946-1948 and was a 1952 graduate of Franklin and Marshall College. He worked for Ernst & Ernst for a couple of years and was vice president of Quaker State Metals in Lancaster for 12 years. He was owner of Manheim Ford for four years, was vice president of Ladder Towers for several years, and chief financial officer for Musser Potato Chips. He then opened his own office for financial consulting and tax preparations until 2010. He was a 50 year member of Williamson Lodge #307 F & AM in Womelsdorf and a life member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Millbach. His interests included historical preservation, genealogy of his family, and St. Paul's U.C.C. of Millbach. Marlin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Guianna W. Balsbach Reedy; son, Michael, husband of Jan Snyder Reedy; daughters, Shelly, wife of George Achey, and Lori, wife of Luke McNaughton, all of Newmanstown, and Debbie, wife of the late Gary K. Chillas of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; sisters, Arlene Brown of Lebanon and Isabelle Powell of North Carolina; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Leon, Henry, and William Reedy, Jr. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Millbach, until 1 p.m. when a Masonic service will be conducted by the Williamson Lodge #307 F & AM, followed by his memorial service. There will be no viewing and interment will be held privately. Because of Marlin's interest in historical preservation, please send memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to St. Paul's U.C.C.
