  LEBANON Ruth K. 'Grandma' Sands, 81, died on Saturday, August 28, 2010, at 
  Manor Care. She was born on Saturday, September 8, 1928, to the late Ralph H. 
  Sands and Mabel M. Sands nee Shanaman in Lebanon. She worked in a shoe factory 
  and chicken plant. She enjoyed bingo and Nascar. Surviving are son, Donald 
  spouse of Debbie Sands, Myerstown; grandchildren Rena spouse of Wes Cassel, 
  Donald 'Butch' Sands, Jr., Jason R. spouse of Andrea Sands, David L. spouse of 
  Nicole Zimmerman; great-grandchildren, Brittany Sands, Bronson Bowman, Monica 
  and Evan Sands, Karly and Isaiah Zimmerman; great-great-grandchild, Sean 
  Timothy Berkheimer; sisters, Dorothy A. Shirk, Arlene Balsbaugh. She was 
  preceded in death by sisters, Ethel M. Sands, Mildred Houtz; brother, Chester 
  F. Sands. Viewing will be on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, from 10 to 11 a.m. 
  at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland St., Lebanon. Funeral 
  services will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at 
  Zion 'Goshert's' UCC Cemetery, Lebanon, following the service. Christman's 
  Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve the family with the arrangements.
