Sattazahn, 74, went to his eternal rest at home surrounded by his family on Monday, October 4, 2010, after fighting a battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of Lebanon County, he was born April 16, 1936, to the late William C. Sattazahn Sr. and Agnes (Stowe) Sattazahn of Annville. He was a 1954 graduate of Annville-Cleona High School and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and previously worked at Lebanon Catholic School and Quaker Alloy. He was a founding member of the Polka Pals and enjoyed their dances. He was a member of the Lebanon County Republican Party/Committee and the Friendship Fire Company. He was also an avid gardener and hunter who enjoyed many outdoor activities. He was a big fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and enjoyed watching their games. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Allwein) Sattazahn. They were married October 7, 1961, at St. Mary's Church in Lebanon. He is also survived by three children, Paul T. Sattazahn of Lebanon, Mary F. Sattazahn of Arlington, Va., and Andrew N. Sattazahn of Boca Raton, Fla.; and a granddaughter, Melissa L. Sattazahn of Lebanon. He is survived by sisters, Alma Jamieson of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Evelyn Shuey of Ft Lauderdale, Fla.; a brother, William C. Sattazahn, Jr. of Palmyra; as well as a large number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by infant son, Paul A.; a sister, Catherine Gernert; and brothers, Wayne and David. Funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. from St. Mary's Church, 2 N. 8th St., Lebanon 17042. Viewing hours Friday morning from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment is private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society , Box 1274, Lebanon, PA 17042; American Heart Association , 335 S. 8th St., Lebanon, PA 17042; or charity of your choice.
