Schell, 91, formerly of Myerstown, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Highlands at Wyomissing, 2000 Cambridge Ave., Wyomissing. She was the wife of George W. Schell, to whom she was married 63 years on October 5, 2009. Born in West Roxbury, Mass., on March 11, 1918, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Agnes (Allen) Hall. She was a 1935 graduate of Northhampton School for Girls and attended Wellsley College, Wellsley, Mass. and She had been employed for four years as a technical clerk at Atlantic Refining Co., Philadelphia. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown; Myerstown Woman's Club; life member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution; National Society of the Children of the American Revolution; and was past state chairman of the Americanism Naturalism Committee of the Pa. Daughters of the American Revolution, where she served on numerous committees. She enjoyed public relations and writing for newspapers. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Helen C. Schell of Leesport, and Elizabeth, wife of Steven R. Tarr of Lansdale. She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by twin sons, George and William Schell; sisters, Catharine S. Hall, Mary Elizabeth Manette, and Margaret D. Hall; and brother, William A. Hall. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010, at 1 p.m. from Friedens Lutheran Church, 301 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Interment at Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Myerstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
