  Ruth E. Schumacher 
  
  CLEONA Ruth E. Schumacher, 96, passed away Friday, December 10, 2010, at the 
  Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. 
  Schumacher. Ruth was born in Manheim, on September 13, 1914, a daughter of the 
  late Benjamin and Ida (Schaeffer) Eck. She was a graduate of Manheim High 
  School and Millersville State Teachers College. She retired in 1976 after 
  teaching for many years at Manheim Boro and Lebanon City School. She was a 
  member of St. Mary's Church. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her 
  grandchildren. She is survived by two children, Thomas F., husband of Annette 
  Schumacher of Mt. Lebanon, Pittsburgh, and Theresa M. Ney of Cleona; four 
  grandchildren, Amy, Andrew, Todd, and Scott; six great-grandchildren, Zachary, 
  Amanda, Kaitlyn, Rilly, Noah, and Gavin; one sister, Jane Draude of York; and 
  several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Peter 
  Schumacher, and a sister, Anna Bickler. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Tuesday morning, 
  December 14, at St. Mary's Church, 2 N. 8th St., Lebanon 17046. Interment at 
  Holy Cross Cemetery. View hours from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday morning at the 
  church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Church. 
  Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in charge of the arrangements.
