  Robert L. Shifflett 
  
  Robert L. Shifflett PALMYRA Robert Lee Shifflett, 83, formerly of Grottoes, 
  Va., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 4, 2010, at his home. He was born 
  Sunday, June 19, 1927, in Crozet, Va., to the late Edward and Lillie (Via) 
  Shifflett. He was predeceased in 1985 by his loving wife of 36 years, Lottie 
  (Raynes) Shifflett. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in Germany during 
  WWII. He retired from the Hershey Chocolate Company in 1989. He and his wife 
  attended and raised their family in the Palmyra First E.C. Church. He was a 
  member of the Bakery and Confectionary Workers International Union of America, 
  Local 464. He enjoyed antique automobiles and restored a 1955 Chevy from 
  junkyard to pristine condition. He was an avid Phillies fan, a skillful 
  handyman, enjoyed country music and traveling on bus trips to see various 
  performances, ballgames and shows. Most of all, he was a loving husband, 
  father, grandfather, and friend. He will be sadly missed by his devoted 
  daughter, Debra L. Shifflett of Palmyra; two sons, Gary Lee Shifflett of York 
  and Craig Allen Shifflett of Gibsonia; four grandchildren; and five great-
  grandchildren. He was predeceased by four brothers and seven sisters; and 
  longtime friend and companion, Betty B. Graby. Funeral services will be held 
  Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. 
  Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Rev. Jan R. Fryer officiating. Family and 
  friends are invited for viewing from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Burial 
  with full military honors will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Annville.
