  Helen L. Sloan MYERSTOWN Helen Louise Sloan, 84, of the ECC Retirement Village, 
  StoneRidge Campus, Myerstown, died Monday, February 22, 2010, in her residence. 
  She was the wife of the late Carl G. Sloan. She was born February 27, 1925, in 
  Petrolia, a daughter of the late Alfonso and Ethel Covert Serafine. She was a 
  retired nurse's aide working as a private duty nurse in Lebanon for nine years 
  and also at the Memorial Hospital in Hollywood, Fla., for twelve years. She was 
  a member of the Lebanon Valley Church of the Nazarene. Helen was survived by 
  children, Leslie George Sloan of Pittsburgh, David Leroy, husband of Carol 
  Sloan of Myerstown, and Judy Ann, wife of Kenneth Simmons of West Chester; 
  seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Milford Serafine of 
  Arnold; and sisters, Nora McFadden of California and Patricia Clark of 
  Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Beverly Sloan; 
  sisters, Elizabeth Jansma, Virginia Fawcett, Rose Stuck and Thelma McConnell; 
  and a brother, Harold Serafine. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 
  a.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, with a viewing 
  beginning on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will be made in the Mt. Lebanon 
  Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the 
  American Red Cross, 1220 Mifflin St., Lebanon, PA 17046.
