M. shabodeho@aol.com November 20, 2010, 9:41 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on November 20, 2010 Louis A. Sorrentino ANNVILLE Louis A. Sorrentino, 78, of 211 E. Locust St., died Thursday, November 18, 2010, in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of Rosella Hollinger Sorrentino with whom he would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in December, 2010. Born in Sharon Hill, on February 10, 1932, he was the son of the late Louis M. and Vera Sicilano Sorrentino. He served as a coach and athletic director at Lebanon Valley College, Annville, for 40 years, and was a U.S. Army Veteran of Korea. Lou was a graduate of Sharon High School, Lebanon Valley College, and received his master's degree from Bucknell University. He was a member of St. Paul The Apostle Church, Annville, where he served on it's Building Committee and as a Sunday usher. He was also a member of the Annville American Legion and was inducted into the Pennsylvania, Lebanon Valley, and Lebanon Valley College Sports Halls of Fame. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Linda S., wife of Kurt Glaeser of Fredericksburg, Va.; two sons, Louis M. Sorrentino and wife, Nancy of Stafford, Va., and Jay L. Sorrentino and wife, Theresa of Annville; grandchildren, Matthew and Suzannah Glaeser, Joseph and Toni Sorrentino, and Lucia Sorrentino; a brother, Michael Sorrentino of Fairfax, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Mazzola. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 23, at 12 noon from St. Paul the Apostle Church, 125 S. Spruce St., Annville, PA 17003. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. No viewing. A visitation will be held immediately following the service in the church social hall. Contributions may be made to his church; or Lebanon Valley College, c/o LVC Athletic Department, 101 College Ave., Annville, PA 17003 in his memory. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville, is in charge of arrangements.
