Spangler, 82, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Warsaw Health and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw. She was born on March 31, 1928, in Anneville, the daughter of Oscar and Della Rice Miller. She graduated from AHS in 1946. She grew up in Anneville and was united in marriage to Paul J. Spangler. Paul was a GR Research Entomologist for the Smithsonian and his work took them all over the country. Phyllis assisted her husband in his work for 40 years as his personal research assistant. They lived in the Washington, D.C., area. In 2002, they moved to Warsaw, Mo. She is survived by her husband, Paul, a resident of the Warsaw Health Center; one son, Richard Spangler of Warsaw, Mo.; one brother, Carl O. Miller of Annville; a sister, Marilyn Daubert of Lebanon; and other relatives and friends. Phyllis Spangler wishes were to be cremated. Cremation was at the Kaysinger Crematory in Warsaw under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw. No services are scheduled.
