M. shabodeho@aol.com January 4, 2011, 8:55 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on January 3, 2011 Philip Stauderman MYERSTOWN Philip Stauderman, 90, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of the late Blanche Failor Stauderman and Suzanne Hollemaert Stauderman. Born in Brooklyn, New York on May 8, 1920, he was the son of the late Philip and Jeannette (Matthew) Stauderman. He was a 1937 graduate of Scotch Plains High School, New Jersey and attended the University of Pennsylvania. He received a BA in Economics in 1943 from New York University. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and spent 27 years in the U.S. military, active and reserves. He was in sales management for the American Agricultural Chemical Co. and the Agricultural Chemical Division of Gulf Oil Corp. He had also been manager of the Agricultural Division of Vahlsing, Inc. He was last employed as a commercial vegetable seed consultant for Abbott & Cobb, Inc. for 10 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown and the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity-Omicron Chapter at the University of Pennsylvania; Life member of Myerstown VFW Post 6076; member of the Navy Club #91, Lebanon; member of the Pocono Mountains Lions Club, receiving the Lion of the Year award in 1995; past president of the StoneRidge Resident's Assoc. and a past member of the Board of Trustees of the ECC Retirement Village, Myerstown. He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Such of Crosswicks, New Jersey; sons, Philip Stauderman, Jr. of Genoa, New York and Harry J. Stauderman of Sorrento, Florida; stepson, Jacques DuPont of Alton, Illinois; seven grandchildren; sister, Janet Gardner of Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Viewing Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
