Stichler, 79, died Thursday, April 1, 2010, in his residence. He was the husband of Joan Putt Stichler, to whom he was married for 59 years. The couple was married February 10, 1951, in St. John's U.B. Church by the Rev. Russell Shay. He was born October 14, 1930, in Lebanon, son of the late Albert and Lillian Hyle Stichler. He retired after 26 years service with Lebanon Valley Offset and was employed part-time by the Manheim Auto Auction. He was a 1948 graduate of Lebanon High School. He was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed nature and passed that enjoyment on to his family. He was an avid hunter and golfer. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Richard J. and wife, LuAnn Stichler of Lebanon, and Bradley Stichler of Lebanon; daughter, Cynthia, wife of Peter Schelzig of Germany; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Oberholtzer of Palmyra; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 7, at 8 p.m. at Rohland Funeral Home, Inc., 5th and Cumberland Sts., Lebanon, where friends will be received Wednesday 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the NRA; or the Hospice of the GSH, 4th and Walnut Sts., Lebanon, PA 17042.
