Stickler Jr. LEBANON Mr. Ira Robert Stickler, Jr., 83, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 20, 2010. Ira was born on April 8, 1927. He was one of eight children born to the late Ira R. Stickler, Sr. and Katie Brubaker Stickler. At the age of 17 he enlisted into the United State Marine Corps and fought in WWII in the Pacific. Over the years he owned his own concrete business, built several homes, and was a member of the Carpenters Local. He was a member of St. John's U.C.C. of Lebanon, Masonic Lodge Mt. Olivet #704, Scottish Rite, Lebanon VFW, and the American Legion. Ira was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, New England Patriots, and Penn State, and enjoyed playing the banjo. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jacqueline Bricker Stickler; and six children, Carolyn Conlow of Lebanon, Ira "Bob" Stickler, III of Lebanon, Dorothy and her husband, Clark Keller of Lebanon, Susan Krizan of Jonestown, Craig Stickler, Sr. and his wife, Doreen of Jonestown, and Michael Stickler and his wife, Shawn of Richland; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; brother, Fred B. Stickler; sisters, Bernetta Hower, Jeanette Reed, and Rosetta Bennethum; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Laverne Hartmoyer and Arlene Boltz; and his brother, Harry Stickler. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. John's U.C.C., 931 Willow St., Lebanon, where family and friends are invited for visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m. Masonic services will begin at 8:15 a.m. Interment will be made in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his church. The Rohland Funeral Home, Lebanon, is handling the arrangements.
