Tillery, 87, formerly of Norfolk, Va., died Friday, December 10, 2010. at his residence. He was the husband of Beatrice K. (Rust) Tillery, to whom he was married 23 years on August 23, 2010. He was preceded in death by wives, Anna Lou Porter Tillery in 1948, and Zelma Weinstock Tillery in 1985. Born in Evergreen, Ala., on September 29, 1923, he was the son of the late Henry A. and Alba V. (Webb) Tillery. He was a 1940 graduate of Brooklyn Public School, Evergreen, Ala., and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He had been employed at the Naval Air Rework Facility, Norfolk, Va., for 36 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Lebanon Church of the Brethren, the Senior Center of Lebanon Valley, and Silver Haired Daddies Bowling League at Cedar Lanes. He attended the Thursday morning Heisey's Diner Prayer Breakfast and enjoyed sports. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Anna Lou, wife of Patrick Hughes of Norfolk, Va., and Phyllis, wife of George Clark of St. Petersburg, Fla.; stepdaughters, Janet Witmer of Mechanicsburg, and Joyce, wife of Craig Schneider of Frederick, Md.; eight grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; sister, Dorothy Womack of Milton, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa E. Loyd in 2005; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Viewing Thursday at 1 p.m. Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lebanon Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 5, Lebanon, PA 17042.
