Troutman, 87, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010, of complications following a stroke. She was the wife of Perry J. Troutman, with whom she celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary August 19. Born in Oil City, Pa., on October 22, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Clinton C. and Dorothy Rote Schreffler. She served as a Librarian for the Annville Free Library for 45 years, including 11 years as Director of the Library. She also held positions as a librarian at Houghton College (N.Y.), Titusville (PA), Dayton (OH) and the Boston (MA) Library System. Vivian was a graduate of Oil City High School (1940), Houghton College with a degree in English (1947). She also took Library Science courses at Columbia University (NY). She was a member of Annville United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher and on various committees. She enjoyed reading British novels. She is survived by her husband; a daughter Lynda wife of Kevin O'Sullivan of Potomac, Md.; a son, Philip E. Troutman of Rochester, N.Y.; three brothers, Fred Schreffler of North Chili, N.Y., Scott Schreffler of Lilburn, Ga., and Andrew Schreffler of Apollo, Pa.; and two grandsons, John Perry O'Sullivan and Michael Patrick O'Sullivan. She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Ritenour; and two brothers, Roger and Victor Schreffler. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the Annville United Methodist Church, East Main and College Ave., Annville. Internment will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made either to The Annville Free Library or to the Annville United Methodist Church. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville is handling the arrangements.
