Vranesic CORNWALL Paul Matthew Vranesic, 89, of 120 Anthracite Road, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Maisie R. (Hearsum) Vranesic. They were married in London in 1945, and recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. Paul was born in Cornwall, on September 29, 1920. He was a son of the late John and Jennie (Yoklisch) Vranesic. He attended Cornwall High School. He was a WWII Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Air Force, 100th Bomb Group, stationed in England. He received a Distinguished Unit Badge. He was a retired Ore Miner having worked for Bethlehem Steel, Cornwall, for 31 years. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Cornwall. Paul was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his wife, Maisie, he is survived by four children, Paul R., husband of Laurite Vranesic of Cornwall, Elizabeth, wife of Gary Kreider of Palmyra, Marie, wife of Jeff Seidel of Harrisburg, and Jean, wife of Philip Fratti of Hershey; six grandchildren, Tom Vranesic, Jan Burden, Paul C. Vranesic, Marsena Vranesic, and Michael and Joel Kreider; five greatgrandchildren; a brother, John Vranesic of Lebanon; two sisters, Phyllis Arnold of Cornwall and Margaret Yormak of Florida; a niece; and a nephew. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jenny Novsel; and three brothers, Walter, Joe, and Jack Vranesic. Funeral Mass Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Church, 2596 Cornwall Road, Cornwall, PA 17016. Interment at Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery. Viewing Tuesday morning 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Church Parish Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Church. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., is in charge of the arrangements.
