"Russ" Waltermyer, 96, of Cedar Haven, died on Friday, November 26, 2010, at the home. He was born on Tuesday, September 8, 1914, to the late Elmer F. Waltermyer and Minnie E. Waltermyer nee Shirk in Jonestown. He worked at Reading Railroad as a conductor and flagman. He was a member of Jonestown United Methodist Church. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and Reading Technical & Historical Society. He enjoyed railroad and steam engines. Surviving are daughters, Shirley, spouse of Donald Boyer of Jonestown, Eleanor J., spouse of Wade Dove of Winchester, Va.; sons, Kenneth H., spouse of Carol A. Waltermyer of Annville, and Jeffrey M., spouse of Diana Waltermyer of Jonestown; stepsons, Warren, spouse of Kay Moyer of New York, Richard Moyer of New York, and Harold, spouse of Dolores Moyer of Fredericksburg; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; half brothers, Wayne Waltermyer and Frederick Waltermyer, both of Tennessee; half sisters, Irene Mayes Waltermyer and Ruth Waltermyer Cardwell, both of Tennessee; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by wife, Grace M. Kohr, and wife, Alma C. Long; son, Bruce A. Waltermyer; daughter, Debra F. Swanger; brothers, Paul S. Waltermyer, George W. Waltermyer, and Warren E. Waltermyer; and half brother, Edward Waltermyer. Viewing will be on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville, following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Jonestown United Methodist Church, 109 W. Market St., Jonestown, PA 17038. Christman's Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve the family with the arrangements.
