Weigley, 90, died peacefully in his sleep at the Lebanon VA Hospice. He was husband of the late Louise B. Kohler Weigley. Born in Richland, he was the son of the late John Henry "Harry" Weigley and Ida Marcella Smith. He was the last member of his family, preceded in death by brothers, Horace F., Henry S., John H., and Louis R. Weigley; sisters, Grace Weigley Snyder and Mary Weigley Arndt; and nephew, Edward H. Snyder. Charles was the first Eagle Scout in Richland and one of the first in Lebanon County and was involved in scouting for many years. He attended both Penn State University and MIT. Charles served in the Weather Corps of the Army- Air Force during World War II. For many years, he served as treasurer for the Clarence D. Spangler Post 880 of the American Legion in Richland. He worked for the E.J. Lavino Company in Sheridan and for Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company. He was active in the Richland Library for many years and was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, Richland. He is survived by sons, Robert E. Weigley, husband of Kyong HwaYi of Lebanon, and Charles H. Weigley of Richland; daughters, Cathleen, wife of Laurence Schiller of Deerfield, Ill., Julie, wife of David Kassel of Harvard, Mass., and Mary Weigley of Richland; three grandchildren, John L. Weigley, Meghan Harvey, and Emma Kassel; and one great-grandchild, Kiera Harvey. The following nieces and nephews also survive: Robert W. Snyder, Betty Joy Nash, Charles W. Snyder, Carol Strohm, Joel Arndt, and Ardell Peters. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Funeral service will be held Monday, January 11, at 7 p.m. in the Grace United Church of Christ, 22 Church St., Richland, with a viewing beginning on Monday at 6 p.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
