Werni, Jr. LEBANON Adam Michael Werni, Jr., 64, died on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, in Lebanon, after a long and courageous fight against diabetes and heart disease, which included a heart transplant in 2004. Michael was born August 22, 1945, the son of the late Adam M. and Julia C. Fessler Werni. A graduate of Lebanon High School, Michael was self-employed as a designer, builder, and contractor. He served in the U.S. Army 1966-1968. He was a charter member of the Lebanon County Builders' Association and a member of the Friendship Fire Company. Michael enjoyed water sports including boating and saltwater fishing, but his favorite activity was whitewater rafting in West Virginia. In the late 80's and 90's, he operated The Fruit Bowl in Rehoboth Beach, Del., with Kathy Donaldson, his partner of more than 32 years. In addition to Kathy, Michael is survived by daughters, Jennifer Hughes, wife of Douglas of South Orange, N.J., and Amy Kohr, wife of David of York; grandchildren, Brittany Luttrell, Joshua Luttrell, Conner Hughes, and Andrea Conrad; and sisters, Janet Morris, wife of John of Rehoboth Beach, Del., and Suzette Lucas of Scottsdale, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Judith and Thomas. Friends will be received on Monday, January 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be made in the Iona United Methodist Cemetery with the Rev.
