Williams Sr., 85, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at home. He was the husband of Linda L. Meyer Williams; they would have celebrated 42 years of marriage on January 1, 2011. He was born in Lebanon on July 25, 1925, a son of the late Edward and Alice Mae Poorman Williams. Mr. Williams was a Foreman for Penn Dot before retiring in 1986. He served his country in the U.S. Army in WWII. He received a Purple Heart and 1 oakleaf cluster, Good Conduct Medal, 1 Bronze star for European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and Presidential Citation. He was a member of the Lebanon County Auxiliary Patrol, State Constable, V.F.W. Post #23 Honor Guard at Indiantown Gap Cemetery as Commander. Surviving are his wife, children, John Williams Jr., husband of Brigitte of Lebanon; Patricia wife of Lloyd Reppert of Lebanon; David Williams, husband of Audrey of Bethel; Laurie, wife of Charles Brandt III of Lebanon; Donna, wife of John Becker of Hanover; Faith, wife of David Garcia of Bensalem; Tammy, wife of Richard Yingst of Jonestown; James Collins of Millersburg; 25 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; sisters, Sandy; Helen Kupp; Hilda, wife of John Frederick; brothers: Harry, husband of Brenda Williams and Ed Williams. John is preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene DiScuillo; granddaughter: Chrissa DiScuillo and sister; Jenny Heckert. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at 12:30 p.m. in the Faith Fellowship Church, 721 East Penn Ave., Cleona 17042, with his Pastor I. Ray Kline officiating and Associate Pastor Dale Landis. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers the family has asked to please send contributions to Tammy Yingst 26 Colonial Drive, Jonestown, PA., 17038.Rohland Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
