M. shabodeho@aol.com June 14, 2010, 12:57 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on June 12, 2010 David Lee Yorty David Lee Yorty POLLOCK PINES, CA David Lee Yorty, 76, formerly of Annville, died Friday, May 21, 2010, at his home after a 16 year battle with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD). He was the husband of Vicki Ryan Yorty, with whom he would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in June of this year. Born in Annville, on December 30, 1934, he was the son of the late Charles and Berenice Loser Yorty. He and his wife Vicki formed their own corporation in 1984 doing consulting work for the Naval Air Systems Command, Federal Express, and DuPont Pharma. They also donated professional services for many nonprofit organizations. David previously worked for CACI, a Virginia-based consulting firm. He retired from the U.S. Navy in January of 1975 as an Aviation Electronics Technician with the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. David was a 1975 graduate of Temple University and a 1952 graduate of Annville High School. He served as former President of the Pollock Pines-Camino Chamber of Commerce, was a Director of the El Dorado County Economic Development Corp., and an active member of the county Chamber of Commerce Tourism Council. He loved serving his community and volunteered in many events. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Jeffrey, husband of Judy Yorty of Akron, Jonathan, husband of Diane Yorty of Hummelstown, and Steven Yorty of Sterling, Va., and their mother, Betty Delancey of Harrisburg; six grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; a brother, Robert C., husband of Doris Yorty of Annville; and two nephews. David was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth C., husband of Heidi Yorty of Mt. Joy. A gathering in honor of David was held at the Yorty home in Pollock Pines, Calif., on Memorial Day weekend, and a celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 6 p.m. at Indian Echo Caverns in Hummelstown.
