M. shabodeho@aol.com February 15, 2010, 1:10 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on February 13, 2010 Kaliopi Zoumas Kaliopi Zoumas LEBANON Kaliopi (Tsoukalas) Zoumas, 95, formerly of East Windsor, N.J., died on Saturday, February 6, 2010, at her home surrounded by family. Mrs. Zoumas immigrated to the United States with her husband to provide a better life for their family. She proudly became an American citizen in 1975. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and had strong family values. Proud of her large family and her Greek-American Heritage, she was a longtime member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Hamilton, N.J., until moving to Pennsylvania in 2000. Kaliopi was the wife of the late Loukas K. Zoumas and mother of the late Michael L. Zoumas. She is survived by two sons, Kim and his wife, Pam Zoumas, and Peter L. and his fianc", Sharon Recchio, and her daughter, Anna and husband, Viron Tsilionis; her daughter-in-law, Christine Zoumas; her sister, Maria Kalogeras of Greece; and her grandchildren, Lucas K. and his wife, Carmela Zoumas, Carole and her husband, Joseph Suarez, Keri ZoumasMarascio and her husband, Joseph Marascio, Thomas and his wife, Gina Tsilionis, Lucas M. Zoumas, Denise Tsilionis and her husband, Steve Stylianou, Loukas P. and his wife, Mary Zoumas, Kali Zoumas, Peter B. Zoumas, and Brook and his wife, Kimberly McNichol; her great-grandchildren, Tracie, Andrew, and Dean Zoumas, Kaitlin, Kristen, and James Suarez, Krystina Marascio, Michael L. Zoumas, Sophia and Isabella Stylianou, and Alexander Tsilionis, Taylor, Evan, and Pammy McNichol; and many loving nephews, nieces, and cousins. Viewing hours are Monday, February 15, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton, N.J., (609) 8823800. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St George Greek Orthodox Church, 1200 Klockner Road, Hamilton, N.J. Burial services will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton Township. Trisagion service will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations in her name may be sent to the American Diabetes Association , P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
