Anspach, 91, died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of the late Anna Angelo Anspach. Born in Pine Grove on January 22, 1920, he was the son of the late John and Clara Aungst Anspach. Bruce was a WWII veteran who proudly served in the U.S. Navy, where he achieved the rank of Boatswain's Mate Second Class and was also a participant in the WWII Honor Bus Hometown Heroes group that went on a trip to see the veteran's monuments in Washington, D.C. Bruce retired from the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching boxing, football and NASCAR. Surviving are two daughters, Amy wife of David Dissinger of Lebanon and Margaret "Peg" Brewster of Harrisburg; six grandchildren, Keir J. Dissinger, Michelle Maulfair, Andy Anspach, Brooke Etzweiler, Tyler Anspach and Torrey Anspach; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He was the last of his immediate family and was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy Anspach, Thomas Anspach; seven brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors.
