Arnold, 65, passed away, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, May 28, 2011 in the Hershey Medical Center. He was born in Lebanon, on September 25, 1945. He was the son of the late Thomas L. and Isabelle M. (Spangler) Arnold. He missed his freshman year of high school because of the onset of Crohn's disease and courageously battled the disease the remainder of his life. He was a graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School, class of 1964, and Penn State University where he majored in accounting, a profession in which he worked for Lebanon County Trust, Philadelphia Gear Company, and Lebanon Valley Offset. He became a proficient golfer, winning league championships and recording several holes-in-one. A natural lefty, he swung right-handed and putted left-handed because the first set of clubs he owned were right-handed clubs. He also enjoyed hunting, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, grilling, and gardening. He especially enjoyed music and had an extensive record collection. He met regularly with a music club to discuss and exchange music. Surviving is a brother, Thomas R. husband of Linda Arnold of Coplay; a sister, Jeanette M. wife of George M. Horn, Jr. of Lebanon; seven nieces and nephews, Thomas R. Arnold, Mary J. Arnold, Louise M. Harris, Stephen A. Horn, Andrew T. Horn, Gregory G. Horn and George M. Horn, III; and nine great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S. 9th St., Lebanon on Thursday, June 9, at 11 a.m. Visitation will precede service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
