Bailey, 81, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 14, 2011. She was born December 12, 1929, at her family home in Snake Spring Township, a daughter of the late Lester V. Bussard and Mary E. (Weicht) Bussard. On September 19, 1953, at the First Congregational Christian Church, she married Robert L. Bailey, who passed away on May 15, 1989. She is survived by their daughter, Karen L. Feather, and husband John W. Feather; three grandchildren, David J. Feather, and wife, Jennifer, Brian R. Feather, and Devon N. Feather; four great-granddaughters, Madison, Autumn, Evelyn and Bailey; two great-grandsons, Riley and Jaydan; a sister, Gladys M. Pepple; and many loving nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing away by two sisters, Dorothy M. Coleman, Ruth D. Bennett; a brother Glenn L. Bussard; and two brothers-in-law, Tom Bailey and Fred Pepple. Mrs. Bailey was a member of the First Christian Church in Everett, having been a member of the Mt. Union Christian Church during her childhood, and after her marriage to Robert, was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Everett. Lela was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1946, and after graduation, began working as a receptionist and clerk at the Bedford Farm Bureau. Her next position was working as a teller at the First National Bank in Everett for over 30 years, and after retiring from the bank, she worked as an administrative assistant at Everett Cash Mutual, and then as a door greeter at the Bedford Plaza Wal-Mart. At home, Lela enjoyed watching all sorts of sporting events on television, following political news, and was a country music fan who enjoyed traveling with her friends, visiting many tourist attractions along the east coast, and was a dedicated and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be truly missed for his giving and caring ways. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Everett with Rev. Robert R. Robertson officiating. Friends may call at the Church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery. Arrangements by Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main St., Everett.
