Baldwin PALMYRA Myrle Baldwin, 88, died Friday afternoon, January 14, 2010 [sic], at the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home in Palmyra. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel A. Baldwin. Born in Palmyra, on March 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Sara (Quigley) Hoke. She is survived by daughter, Sally A. of Jacksonville, Fla.; son, John W., husband of Joni Taylor- Baldwin of Lancaster; granddaughter, Shannon L. of North Arlington, N.J.; and grandson, Taylor D. of Lancaster. Myrle worked as a shoe clerk at RE Kreider Shoe Store in Palmyra for many years. She was a member of the Palmyra Community Chorus and an active member and volunteer at First United Methodist Church in Palmyra. For many years she served in the nursery at First Church, caring for infants and toddlers on Sunday mornings while their parents attended worship services. She and her husband Dan served as church greeters or staffed the information table outside the main sanctuary from time to time, as well. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 27, at 1 p.m. in the DiMatteo Worship Center of the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, 1200 Grubb St., Palmyra.
