Bashore, 93, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011, at the Lebanon Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Irene G. Zeller Bashore, who passed away on April 4, 2010. Born in Bethel Twp., Berks Co., on September 11, 1917, he was the son of the late Elmer and Emma Meyer Bashore. He retired in 1982 from the former College Hill Poultry where he had been the Plant Manager and also their Harrisburg Market Manager. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg and served on the church council. He was a member since 1945 of the Fredericksburg Lion's Club, and was very active in the Fredericksburg Lion's Park and Pool. He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Lodge No. 704, the Valley of Reading Scottish Rite and the Lodge Council Chapter Consistory. He was well known for the beautiful baskets that he made from White Oak and won Blue Ribbons at the Farm Show. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and traveling in all of the lower 48 states. He is survived by his sons, Bruce D. husband of Connie Bashore of Rehrersburg, Dennis T. husband of Lois Bashore of Grand Prairie, Texas; daughter, Jean A. wife of Neal Grimes of Fredericksburg; brother, Lloyd Bashore of Myerstown; sister, Emma Bennett of Myerstown; sister-in-law, Helen Bashore of Myerstown; five grandchildren, Perry Grimes, Holli Brown, Andrea Book, Dean Bashore and Doug Bashore; and five great- grandchildren, Chase Mease, Emma Book, Brendan Byler, Roman Byler and Logan Book. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mabel Snyder and Mary Crouse; and brothers, Norman, Miles, Raymond, Elmer, Paul, Herbert and Harvey Bashore.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd., Jonestown. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg.
