  Harold E. Beard 
   
  LEBANON Harold E. Beard, 89, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011, in the Lebanon 
  Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born in Cornwall, on February 13, 1922, son of 
  the late Helen Engle Beard. He was a 1939 graduate of Cornwall High School. He 
  worked for many years as a chemical engineer, having earned his degree at Penn 
  State University. Harold was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during 
  WWII. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd, 
  Lebanon. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and traveling. He is survived 
  by his wife of 35 years, Helen D. Beard; daughter, Kathryn and her husband, 
  Marion VanFossen; Richard Myhren and his wife, Cynthia, son of Helen Beard; 
  sisters, Dolores, wife of Randall Miller, and Joyce and her husband, Fred 
  Shoemaker; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Beard; sister-in-law, Dolly Beard; and 
  several grandsons and nephews. A tribute to his life will be held on Saturday 
  at 10 a.m. in the United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd, 1500 Quentin 
  Road, Lebanon, where a viewing will begin at 9 a.m. until the time of the 
  service. Interment will be made in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.  The 
  Rohland Funeral Home, Lebanon, is handling the arrangements.
