Bixler PALMYRA Jerome Riley Bixler, 90, went to be with the Lord on June 29, 2011, while living at the home of his daughter in Rixeyville, Va. Jerome was the son of the late Jacob and Violet Fry Bixler of Elizabethtown. Jerome is survived by his wife, Verna Trostle Bixler; and three daughters, Carol Ann Dickinson of Mechanicsburg, Sandra B. Howard and her husband Dudley of Rixeyville, Va. and Patricia B. Smith and her husband Rodney of Phillipsburg, N.J. He is survived by five grandchildren, Deana Baddorf and husband Dave of Mechanicsburg, Erin Diadado and her husband Robert of Mechanicsburg, Angela H. Frazier and husband Craig of Amissville, Va., Jeff Howard and wife Jennifer, of Culpeper, Va., and Lane Pryor of Camp Hill. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Siblings who preceeded him in death are his older sister, Martha Sheaffer and a younger brother Lester Bixler both of Elizabethtown. He is survived by one brother, Harold Bixler and wife Ruth of Elizabethtown; and sister Elsie Ebersole and husband Nelson of Annville. Jerome was a farmer for 15 years in Elizabethtown and Hummelstown before retiring from farming. He worked in Harrisburg for Frances for Ford and then went with Sutliff Chevrolet until his retirement. Jerome was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He was a member of the Lebanon Valley Bible Church in Palmyra. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at Lebanon Valley Bible Church, 1482 Horseshoe Pike, Lebanon, PA 17042 at 11 a.m. Friends may call on Wednesday at the church from 10 until the time of service. Interment will take place in East Donegal Cemetery, Maytown. Arrangements by Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, Elizabethtown.
