Russell H. Border 

MYERSTOWN Russell H. Border, 83, of Myerstown, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 
at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. Born in Myers-town, on May 7, 1927, he 
was the son of the late Russell E. Border and Arbie M. (Edris) Wolfe. He was a 
1945 graduate of Myerstown High School and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. 
He had been chief of police for Myerstown Borough for 30 years, retiring in 
1982 and had been a member of the Myerstown VFW. He is survived by his former 
wife and long time friend, Hattie Schott Border of Myerstown; granddaughter, 
Heather K. McDougald of Lawton, Oklahoma; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth 
and Ian McDougald; and former sister-in-law and husband, Barbara and Calvin 
Englehart of Myerstown. He was preceded in death by a son, Rex Border. Funeral 
services will be held Monday, January 10, 2011, at 10 a.m. from Grose Funeral 
Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Viewing Monday at 9 a.m. Interment at 
Mt. Hope Cemetery, Myerstown.
