Nancy Ann Roslewicz Bowers, born January 16, 1950, died Sunday, July 24, 2011, at the age of 61, ultimately due to breast cancer, at the Hershey Medical Center. Born and raised in Somerville, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Violet Roslewicz. She married James H Bowers, also of Somerville, in 1972. Jim and Nancy had two handsome sons, James E Bowers in 1976, and Karl R Bowers in 1978. She is survived by her husband and two sons; two grandchildren, William and Nicole; and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. With over 30 years experience in hair cutting and styling, and cosmetology, her businesses and jobs included: Hair Styles by Nancy in Raritan, N.J., Nancy 's Design Group in Hillsborough, N.J., and front desk manager at the Gatsby in Greenbrook, N.J. She was a licensed teacher at the Hair Fashion Institute of New Jersey, and a State Board Cosmetology Examiner. She retired with her husband to North Cornwall Township, Lebanon County, in 2003. Nancy loved traveling, especially on cruise ships, and car trips to the countryside. Her favorite destination was Bermuda. She was a dog lover, owning many through her life. Being all of four feet eleven and a half inches tall, Nancy was lovingly nicknamed "Mini Martha" as she outshined at sewing, gardening, cooking, and decorating a home. She and Jim enjoyed entertaining family and friends, and hosted an annual Christmas Tree Hunt and Party for well over 35 years. She cherished time spent playing with her two grandchildren, William and Nicole. Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who was loved by all and will always be remembered. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cusick Funeral Home in Somerville, N.J. On Saturday a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the New Cemetery on South Bridge St. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
