Bowman ELIZABETHTOWN Gladys Dorothy Blauch Bowman, 93, formerly of South Annville Twp., died Monday, March 21, 2011, in the Masonic Villages of Elizabethtown. She was the wife of Lester Ezra Bowman, who died November 22, 2002. Born in South Londonderry Twp. on February 25, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Lillian H. Mumma Blauch. She had worked part-time at Mark C. Hershey Farms, tended to boarding horses on the family farm, and was a homemaker. Gladys graduated from Hershey High School in 1936 and was a member of Fontana Christian Fellowship Church where she was a youth fellowship leader and Sunday School Teacher. She was also active with Four H and a Farm Women Group and was known for her flower gardening, flower arranging, and beautiful paintings. The flowers she grew were always shared with her many friends who came to visit spending many hours on the front porch socializing. Gladys stayed active and continued her activities at the Masonic Village until recently. Surviving is a daughter Carole L. wife of Irwin 'Bud' Katzmann of Lebanon; three brothers, Mervin Blauch of Palmyra, Lester Blauch of Annville, Karl Blauch of Palmyra; a sister, Thelma wife of Dale Hostetter of Bellegrove; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Earl Bowman; three brothers, Merle, Elias, and Elvin Blauch; and a sister, Mildred Bomgardner. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be held in Grand View Memorial Park. Viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and also on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service.
