M. shabodeho@aol.com August 5, 2011, 12:07 am Published in Lebanon Daily News on July 30, 2011 Helen S. Bowman LITITZ Helen S. Bowman, 94, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Luther Acres in Lititz. She was the wife of Frederick H. Bowman, who died in 1983. Born in Lebanon, on July 7, 1917, she was the daughter of the late John and Olive Fox Livering. Helen graduated from Lebanon High School in 1935. She was an active member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lebanon and was a former president of the Singles and Doubles Club. She also volunteered for over 30 years at Spang Crest Manor and Luther Acres. Helen enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling, reading, and watching football. Helen will especially be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Helen is survived by her two sons, Frederick H. Bowman, Jr. and wife, Paula of Jefferson Hills, and Jeffrey E. Bowman and wife, Frances of Alexandria; two daughters, Sheila, wife of Les Noel of York, and Sally, wife of Theodore Boger of Waterloo, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three nieces; and one nephew. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Wentling and Marian Paine. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, at 1 p.m. from the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 28 N. 9th St., Lebanon 17042 with the Rev. Andrew J. Evenson officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. There will be no viewing.
