M. shabodeho@aol.com February 21, 2011, 11:38 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on February 21, 2011 Maryann Bradley LEBANON Maryann Bradley, 78, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011, in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon, sur-rounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Eugene G. Bradley, who passed on February 24, 1994. Maryann was born in Johnstown, on August 27, 1932, a daughter of the late Anne Byrne and Frederick Leo McKenrick. Maryann attended Holy Name Catholic School, Ebensburg and graduated from Ebensburg Cambria High School in 1950. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Mt. Aloysius Jr. College in 1952, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education in 1955 from Carlow College, Pittsburgh. Maryann was a Clinical Instructor at Harrisburg and Polyclinic Hospitals from 1950-1960, Harrisburg. She worked as a Supervisor, and later, as the Director of Nursing for at Cedar Haven Nursing Home, Lebanon, for over 18 years. She also worked at the Lebanon VA Medical Center and Cornwall Manor. In 1996, Maryann moved to Tuscon, Ariz., where she worked in long term care facilities specializing in Geriatrics as the Assistant Director of Nurses. After 44 years Maryann ended her long career in nursing. Maryann returned to Lebanon in 1999, a town she felt was her home. Maryann truely believed in giving back as a volunteer. She was an active American Red Cross Volunteer with the Lebanon County Chapter for over 25 years. She received the Clara Barton Honor Award for meritorious volunteer leadership. She was a former member of the Greater Lebanon Valley Lions Club, Tucson Desert Lions and The Mountville Lions Club. Maryann was a member of St. Gregory the Great Parrish, where she was an Eucharistic Minister and active Choir member and she was also a member of St. Mary's Church also serving as an Eucharistic Minister and choir member. Surviving are two sons, Kevin, husband of Shannon Bradley of Mendon, N.Y. and their children, Jennifer, Joshua, Zachary and Caitlin Bradley; David, husband of Janet Bradley of Lebanon, and their child Tyler; a sister, Carol Blefko, of Lancaster, and her children; and a brother Pat, husband of Shirley, and their children. A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 2 N. 8th St., Lebanon 17046. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, at the convenience of the family. Viewing hours on Wednesday morning 9 to 10 at the church.
