"Brud" Brandt, 82, died Sunday, September 18, 2011, in the Lebanon V.A. Medical Center. He was the husband of Jean O. Yordy Brandt, with whom he would have celebrated his 57th wedding anniversary on November 25th. He was born in West Lebanon on June 24, 1929, son of the late Arthur and Florence Tice Brandt Sr. He was a 1948 graduate of Lebanon High School and a member of the First Baptist Church, Lebanon. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and he was a P.O.W. for 34 months. He received the Purple Heart and was a chapter commander for the Purple Heart Organization. After serving his country Mr. Brandt was the owner/operator of the Howard H. Brandt Construction and Painting Co., Annville. He enjoyed hunting and fishing particularly in Lewes, Delaware. He is survived by his wife and sons, David H. Brandt and wife Debra, Annville; Daniel R. Brandt and wife Sherry, Lebanon; grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth, Julie, Sarah, Rachel, Brianna, Zachary, Erika and Alex Brandt; sisters, Alice wife of Stanley Reifein, Lebanon; Barbara wife of Donald Demler, Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene Brandt and Arthur Brandt Jr.; sister, Shirley Brandt. Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, 20 Linden Rd., Lebanon where a viewing will begin at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be made in Mt. Annville Cemetery, N. Annville Twp. with full military honors provided by the Lebanon V.F.W. Post #23.
