Brandt, 89, formerly of Lebanon and Manheim, died Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Cedar Haven. He was the husband of the late Kathryn M. Shuey Brandt. Born on June 6, 1921 in Mastersonville, he was the son of the late Abram and Mabel Steinmetz Brandt. He was a retired machinist, having worked for Bond Foundry, Manheim and the Lebanon Steel Foundry. Roy was an Army Veteran of WW2. He was a former member of Mt. Hope Episcopal Church and was a life member of the Manheim VFW Post #5956 and a member of the Annville American Legion Post 559. He enjoyed tinkering with mechanical things and autos. He also enjoyed talking with people. Surviving are 2 sons, David, husband of Beth Ann Brandt; William, husband of Amy Brandt; daughter, Mary Ann, wife of Thomas Blauch, all of Lebanon; 6 grandchildren; sisters, Grace wife of Samuel Maurer, East Petersburg; Elizabeth Piefer, Neffsville and Mary wife of John Harnish, Lampeter. He was preceded in death by a brother Allen Brandt. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Roy's funeral from the Ruffner- Porterfield Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, 890 Isabel Drive, (next to Quentin Circle), Lebanon on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 10:30 AM, with the Rev'd Terrance Wible officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Interment will be held in the Quentin Cemetery.
