Brewer LEBANON Margaret Vesta Gamber Brewer, 88, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Leroy Richard Brewer who preceded her in death on February 27, 1998. Born February 14, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (Lentz) Gamber. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1940. She worked as a secretary at Henry Houck, Jr. High School and in the Guidance Department of Lebanon High School. Margie was an active member in her church choir and chime bells. She was also active at the YMCA with a retired ladies group actively playing cards, games, and going on outings. She also got together monthly with retired ladies of the Lebanon High School District for lunch and fellowship. She was still active and was one of the founding members of the Union Waterworks Fire Company. She enjoyed playing golf, but her love and active involvement in her family is what made her adoring to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also a valuable cooking resource to all family members with instructions, recipes, and techniques and cooking lessons. She is survived by one daughter, Susan B. Ball, wife of David L. Ball of Columbia, Md.; and two sons, Philip R. Brewer, husband of Elizabeth Overton of Fredericksburg, and Patrick P. Brewer, husband of Beverly J. Brewer of Lebanon; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Peter Gamber, Jr., husband of Barbara (Long) Gamber. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard J. Gamber. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park. Viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and also on Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
