Byler, 63, died surrounded by her family at home on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, after a twenty-three year fight with Multiple Sclerosis. Born and raised in Lebanon, she was preceded in death by her parents Carlos R. Leffler and Georgiana Balsbaugh Leffler. Judy graduated from ELCO High School and attended Elizabethtown College. She was married to John E. Byler for forty years. Besides her husband, Judy is survived by her two children: son, Jonathan Leffler Byler, of Lititz, married to Kathryn with children Victoria and Justin and daughter, Julie Ann, married to Joshua White of Peach Bottom. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Castagna, wife of Patrick of Lancaster, nieces, nephews and many loving cousins, aunts and uncles. Judy dedicated her life to loving her family. She also enjoyed tennis, skiing and traveling the world. Judy loved the beach, the ocean and boating. She spent her childhood boating on the Chesapeake Bay and her adulthood vacationing in Stone Harbor, N.J. She adored animals and had many pets, including multiple dogs, horses and a mountain lion. Judy enjoyed entertaining and was famous for her dinner parties and birthday celebrations. She loved music, dancing and playing the piano. Judy had a way of making others smile and keeping spirits high. She maintained a positive attitude throughout her struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. A past member of Richland Church of the Brethren and a present member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Judy held her faith in God throughout her life. She was generous with her resources and philanthropic, supporting the MS Society, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society and The Lancaster Farmland Trust. Family and friends are respectfully invited to Judy's Funeral Service at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2151 Oregon Pike, Lancaster on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Michael A. Rogers officiating. A Memorial Viewing will be held at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 528 W. Orange St., (at the corner of Orange & Pine Sts), Lancaster on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Judy will be laid to rest, beside her parents at Richland Cemetery, 215 S.
