  George R. Carter 
  
  NEWMANSTOWN George R. Carter, 73, died on Monday, February 14, 2011, at Ephrata 
  Community Hospital. He was the husband of Evelyn F. (Haldeman) Carter. Born in 
  Lancaster, George was the son of the late Maurice C. and Emily (Steager) 
  Carter. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was stationed in Korea. He was employed 
  as a truck driver at Caron International for 20 years and retired from Warner 
  Lambert. He was more recently a casual driver for Bridgestone Tires. In 
  addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael Carter (Lisa) of 
  Lititz and Paul Carter (Cindy) of Myerstown; two grandchildren, Austin M. 
  Carter of Lititz and Jaime L. Carter of Myerstown; and a brother, Herbert M. 
  Carter (Bea) of Lancaster. George was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel 
  Cook. Friends will be received at Paul L. Gravenor Home For Funerals, 100 W. 
  Main St., Ephrata, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on 
  Friday. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home 
  with the Rev. Timothy L. Craven officiating. Interment will be in Mellingers 
  Cemetery, Schoeneck.
