He was born on Friday, May 7, 1937, to William I. Checket and Carlotta Checket nee Kleinfelter in Lebanon. He was a member of St. Jacob's Kimmerling's Church. He was a retired music teacher, musician and arranger of music. He was also a member of the Musicians Union. James was the cofounder of "Octagon" and was involved with Lebanon Big Swing Band. Surviving are wife, Sally Ann Miller- Checket, Lebanon; daughter, Kathy Marie Price, Marlton, N.J.; sons, Christopher J. Checket, Lebanon, Keith A. Checket, Lebanon; six grandchildren; brothers, William E. Checket, Jonestown, Thomas R. Checket, North Cape May, N.J.; sister, Diane spouse of James Grim, Oklahoma City, Okla.; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at 2 p.m. at St. Jacob's Kimmerling's Church, 1 St. Jacobs Drive, Lebanon. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family. Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to serve the family with the arrangements.
