Born July 29, 1928, he passed at his residence at Masonic Home in Elizabethtown. He was preceded in death by grandson, Jon Cody Hoffer; and great-grandson, Tyler Garrett Robb. William is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruthe Wenger Cody; sister, Elizabeth McCullough; children, William Craig (Janine) Cody, Malinda Kate (Chris) Varga, Charles Andrew (Laura) Cody, Edward Ian (Tracy) Cody and Heather Anne (David) Rocker. He has 12 loving grandchildren and nine loving great-grandchildren. He was a veteran of the US Navy and the U.S. Army where he served in the 5th Regimental Combat Unit during the Korean War. Born in Philadelphia, he joined the City Police Force in 1953 and later in 1964, became a Registered Nurse. William was a devoted family man and loved socializing with family and friends. He enjoyed camping, traveling, gun collecting, reading history books and was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge (St. Albans-Swain) Lodge No. 529, Philadelphia.
