Collins II II LEBANON Jeremiah Andrew Collins, II, 79, of 501 Poplar St., passed away Friday, January 21, 2011, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Barbara M. Grosky Collins. Born in Trenton, N.J., on February 25, 1931, Jeremiah was the son of the late Dr. Henry and Alice Hickey Collins. He was a member of Congregation Beth Israel, Lebanon. Jeremiah retired from Clever- Brooks in Lebanon. Jeremiah was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and participated in Operation Castle. He also served in the National Guard and Reserves, and was a member of the Atomic War Veterans and Jewish War Veterans. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Lt. Steven (retired Lebanon City Police), husband of Tammy Collins of Bethel, Stacey, wife of Michael Knarr of Hummelstown, and Scott, husband of Holly Collins of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Erin Collins, Matthew Knarr, Jacob Collins, and Erik Snavely; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Anne Boney and Barbara Gorman; and one brother, Henry Collins. He was the last of his immediate family. Funeral service Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S. 9th St., Lebanon. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors.
