Dechert, 86, died Monday, September 12, 2011, in the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of Franklin E. Dechert, with whom she would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on October 4, 2011. She was born in Cornwall, daughter of the late James J. Wild and the late Mary Josephine Wild. She retired from Penn State Hershey Medical Center as a telephone operator and was previously employed by Lebanon Bell Telephone. Margaret was a life member of the Cornwall U.M.C. and at the time of her death she held the distinction of having the longest current church membership. She was the past president of the Women's Society and other leadership positions in the church. She was a former volunteer with the American Red Cross and the Good Samaritan Hospital with over 3000 hours of service. She also was past president of the Opti-Mrs. Club and a member for 48 years. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Dr. JoAnne Youngblut and her husband, Bill of Weston, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Alex and Alicia Youngblut. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mollie Treist, and her brother, Harold Wild. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, where a visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Following the service, interment will be made in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
