Deiter, 87, passed away Friday evening, November 18, 2011, at the Hospice House in Tavares, Fla. He was born in Scranton and moved to the Leesburg, Fla., area in 1992 from Lebanon. He was a Physical Education teacher at the Lebanon Sr. High School and Harrison Jr. High School and retired as a department head after more than 35 years. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Deiter was a member of the American Legion, a Life Member of the N.R.A., and also served as a Deputy Game Warden for over 30 years. George was a sports enthusiast and was happiest when he was outdoors fishing, hunting, and boating. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Helen, and his son, Dr. Raymond L. Deiter of Sausalito, Calif. The family will be planning a service in Lebanon at a later date. Page Theus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Leesburg, Fla., has been entrusted with all arrangements.
