Delaney LITITZ Louise Marie Beffer Delaney, originally from Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday evening, July 9, 2011, at Luther Acres in Lititz, after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born June 18, 1923, in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Angelo and Victoria Beffer. She was a graduate of Coughlin High School in 1941. Louise lived most of her life in Wilkes-Barre and was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Church and many other church and community organizations. Louise was always taking care of someone when she lived in Wilkes-Barre. One of Louise's favorite hobbies was cooking. She took pride in providing her family with good meals. Her son and daughter- in-law compared Louise to Marie Barone on "Everybody Loves Raymond" always asking, "Are you hungry, dear?" or "Can I get you a little something?" She had a very active social life and loved to spend time with family and friends. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Leo Delaney; sisters, Filomena Finarelli, Betty Patrick; brothers, Michael Beffer, Fred Beffer, Nick Beffer, and Joe Beffer; and grandson, Matthew Gerhart. Survived by her sister, Frances Beffer Kelly; children James (Nancy), Lancaster; Ann, Philadelphia; Ginger (Carl Burns), Sweet Valley; Shawn (Carol), Maplewood, Minn.; Leo (Donna), Burke, Va.; Kathleen (Greg Gerhart), Myerstown; Brian (Karen), Front Royal, Va.; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Louise Delaney may be directed to support the National Alzheimer's Association.
