  Robert L. Dennerlein 
   
  HILLSBOROUGH, NJ Robert L. Dennerlein, 89, formerly of New York and Myerstown, 
  died Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Emeritus Assisted Living, Hillsborough. He 
  was the husband of Eva A. (Rudl) Dennerlein, who died on November 8, 2007. Born 
  in Bronx, N.Y., on August 28, 1921, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and 
  Helen J. (Hickey) Dennerlein. He was a 1939 graduate of DeWitt Clinton High 
  School, Bronx, and was a 1977 Summa Cum Laude graduate of the New York 
  Institute of Technology, Bronx. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was 
  employed as a police officer with the New York City Police Department for 32 
  years, retiring as a captain in 1978. He was a member of Mary Gate of Heaven 
  Catholic Church, Myerstown, and enjoyed golfing, competitive swimming, home 
  repairs, and reading. He is survived by a daughter, Clare A., wife of Glenn van 
  Lier of Hillsborough, N.J.; and a son, Robert J., husband of Michele Dennerlein 
  of Bayfield, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 
  Services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment at 
  Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, is 
  entrusted with the arrangements.
