M. shabodeho@aol.com August 14, 2011, 7:28 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on August 14, 2011 John Donnachie Sr. LEBANON John "Pat" Donnachie, Sr., 84, passed away in Cedar Haven Nursing Home on Saturday, August 13, 2011, after a long, hard battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was the loving husband of Marion (Simmers) Donnachie for 63 1/2 years. John was born May 3, 1927, to the late Thomas and Sarah (Bard) Donnachie in Chambersburg. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Lebanon. "Pat" was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and the Korean War and a Legionnaire of Post 559 in Annville. He retired from Sterling Drug with 25 years of service. Pat was one of Lebanon County's most avid golfers and was well known by many for his great skills at golf and for his great personality. He was the Pine Meadows Golf Champion, and won the Lebanon County Better Ball of Partners with Bill Shoop and Don Weiman In addition to his wife, he is survived by six sons, John P. Donnachie, Jr. and wife, Kathy, Stephen M. and wife, Diane, Douglas P. and wife, Sherie, Kevin R. and wife, Tam, Keith W. and wife, Amy, and Christopher T. and wife. Angela; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all whom he loved dearly; two sisters, Margaret Krotec of Palmyra and Nancy Donnachie of Manheim; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, William and Richard Elliott, and Thomas and Robert Donnachie. Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. from St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 6th and Chestnut Sts., Lebanon. Inurnment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville, is in charge of arrangements.
