Retirement Village on Wednesday, April 9, 2011. He was born in Lebanon, a son of Mary A. Ditzler Donten of Tremont and the late Herbert E. Donten. He was the husband of Gloria J. Gardner Donten, to whom he would have been married 35 years in August. Mr. Donten was a steel worker for Bethlehem Steel for 30 years and retired from P.P.C.P. of Lebanon. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was an avid gardener, loved to draw, go camping and working on his old cars. He was a former member of the Jonestown American Legion, Post #910. He was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church, Lebanon. Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are daughters, Terri L., wife of Ted Yanick, of Berks Co.; Tammy L., wife of Victor Saunders, of Lebanon; Tina L., wife of John Kirkpatrick Jr., of Jonestown and Mary K., wife of Corey Remlinger Sr., of Lebanon; grandchildren, Herbert A., Daniel, Marissa, Brittany, Damien, Austin, Grady, Dominyk, Corey Jr., and Nathan; three great-granddaughters; sister, Joyce, wife of John Pete Sr., of Jonestown; nieces and nephews, Lisa, John Jr., Chris, Alex, Jennifer and Dominic; and mother-in-law, Kate Gardner. He is preceded in death by his father; grandson, John Kirkpatrick III; and father-in-law, Richard Gardner Jr. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home Inc. 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA., 17042 with his pastor the Rev. Brian Albert officiating. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Annville with military honors by Lebanon V.F.W. Post 23.
