M. shabodeho@aol.com June 19, 2011, 11:05 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on June 18, 2011 Ronald E. Drum LEBANON Ronald E. Drum, 74, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Manor Care, Lebanon. He was the husband of Donna K. Jungmann Drum. He was born in Lebanon, on November 11, 1936, a son of the late Earnest and Emma Watson Drum. He was a retired Educator for the Lebanon School District with 30 years of service. Ronald had also owned and operated Learning Resource Center in the Lebanon Area for 18 years. He was a 1954 graduate of Lebanon High School, studied Broadcasting at Northwestern, earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Lebanon Valley College in 1958, and a M.A. Education, in 1972 from Kutztown Univ. Ronald was an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Lebanon, where he sang in the Boys Choir, served as an acolyte and as a Eucharistic minister. He served as the radio announcer for the broadcasts of the Christmas Midnight Masses and taught Sunday School. He also attended the Moravian Church, Lebanon and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lebanon. He was a former member and past president of HALCYON, former member of Lebanon Jaycee, Lebanon Valley Kiwanis Club, and TPA Post E, Lebanon. He spent his high school evenings, weekends, and holidays serving as an announcer on WLBR, where he worked on a program called "Sunday Night Special", featuring music, talk and interviews. He also played sax and was an announcer for several areas bands. Ronald provided commercial advertising for the political campaigns of Don Griffith, John Anspach, and John Walter. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Christopher P. of Lebanon; grandchildren, Madisyn and Nicholas; and a niece, Beverly Barlett. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ronald's funeral service Monday, June 20, 2011, at 11 a.m. from St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 6th and Chestnut Sts., Lebanon, where friends will be received Monday from 10:30 a.m. to time of service. Interment will be held at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lebanon, or St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Lebanon.
