GRETNA James Joseph "J" Dwyer, 75, died Friday, March 18, 2011, in Hospice of Lancaster County, Mt. Joy. He was the husband of Constance Ehrhart Dwyer to whom he was married for 14 years. Born in Akron, Ohio on November 24, 1935, he was the son of the late James Joseph, Jr. and Ruth Gustely Dwyer. Jim grew up in Hudson, Ohio and graduated from Western Reserve Academy, Hudson, Ohio and the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York. His career started in retail, managing stores for W.T. Grant from 1957-1969 in New York State and Pennsylvania. He realized his calling was to do something more meaningful for society and decided to go into the field of human services. He was employed as the Rehabilitation Services Coordinator from 1970-1999 at the Lebanon County Workshop, now Quest, Inc. While working in human services, Jim was active in many local human services organizations. He also was a member and treasurer for 7 years of the Mt. Gretna Campmeeting Board of Managers. Jim was an avid golfer, and a Cleveland Browns and Ohio State football and basketball fan. He enjoyed traveling and music, particularly jazz, and a good book, a good beer, and a good story. Jim maintained a curious and determined spirit throughout his entire life. Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Anne E. Dwyer of Roanoke, Texas; James J. husband of Staci Dwyer of Keller, Texas; Greg M. Dwyer and fiancee, Janelle Mancuso of Hyattsville, Md.; and Nancy C., wife of Wendel Martincovic of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Zacary Dwyer. At his request, Jim donated his body to science in keeping with his philosophy of service to mankind.
