  MYERSTOWN John "Jack" W. Eckenroth, 72, died Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the VA 
  Medical Center, Lebanon. He was the husband of Jennie L. (Geib) Eckenroth to 
  whom he would have been married 54 years on May 11. Born in Myerstown, on July 
  9, 1938, he was the son of the late Charles W., Jr. and Mary Grace (Shepherd) 
  Eckenroth. He was a 1956 graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School and served in 
  the U.S. Army. He had been employed for many years at MML Construction, 
  Lebanon, prior to his retirement. He was a member of Mary Gate of Heaven 
  Catholic Church, Myerstown; Knights of Columbus, Goodwill Fire Co., Myerstown 
  and had been a Boy Scout leader for many years for Troop 20, Myerstown. He had 
  also been a foster parent to 25 children and enjoyed trains and collecting 
  pencils. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Valerie Ann wife 
  of Scott Schware of Richland and Kelly Eckenroth fiance' of Karl Kiser of 
  Albuquerque, N.M.; son, Daniel Eckenroth of Hummelstown; five grandchildren, 
  Jacqueline "Jackie" wife of Angel Matias, Lebanon, Joshua "Josh" fiance' of 
  Deborah Haldeman, Myerstown, Zachary Eckenroth, Tyler, Texas, Danielle 
  Eckenroth, Lebanon, Sarah Eckenroth, Harrisburg; two great-grandchildren, Janee 
  Matias, Lebanon, Marcus Matias, Lebanon; sisters, Elizabeth "Betsy" wife of 
  George Beretta, Lucy Anna wife of J. Ivan Hanson, Grace Gichner, Charlotte wife 
  of Norman Clair, Harriet wife of Gary Gillen, Paula Eckenroth, Marian wife of 
  John Breive, Patricia Eckenroth, Trudy wife of Frank Gass; brother, Richard 
  husband of Susan Eckenroth; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in 
  death by a brother, Joseph Eckenroth in 2004. A Mass of Christian Burial will 
  be celebrated Friday, April 1, 2011 at 11 a.m. from Mary Gate of Heaven 
  Catholic Church, 188 W. McKinley Ave., Myerstown. There will be no viewing. 
  Family will receive friends Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Recitation 
  of the Rosary will be held at 10 a.m. Interment at Grand View Memorial Park, 
  Annville.  Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown has been entrusted with the 
  arrangements.
